'Glow Ride' sheds light on MK Redways
52 brightly coloured cyclists, mostly women, rode from The Xscape building in Central Milton Keynes to Willen Lake and back. The aim was to shine a light on the need for safer and better cycle routes, especially for women riding after dark.

Led by women, and substantially larger than last year's inaugural 'MK Glow Ride', the ride was organised by leaders of MK's Gender Pedal Gap campaign and part of a national campaign organised by Cycling UK.
"Together, we can show decision makers that more needs to be done to make cycling feel safe and accessible for everyone," said ride leader Ann Shrimpton, Co-Chair of Cycling Citizens MK. "We know disproportionately few women cycle in MK and one of the reasons is that Redway lighting isn't good enough."
The ride was joined by Cllr Kerrie Bradburn, MK City Council's Cabinet Member for Highways & Transport (2nd from right in main picture above).
