On Saturday 7 March, more than 70 women from across Milton Keynes came together to celebrate cycling and International Women’s Day.

Organised by Cycling Citizens MK and hosted at the Trek Store at Campbell Wharf, the women cyclists could choose from seven different rides ranging from 4 miles to 50 miles, proving there really was something for everyone.

Currently, around three times more men than women cycle, and one of Cycling Citizens MK’s aims is to help change that. When more women cycle, more people cycle. Saturday showed just how many women in Milton Keynes love getting out on two wheels.

What followed was a brilliant day of smiles, laughs, camaraderie and plenty of conversation as riders shared stories, met new people and enjoyed time together on the bike.
